To mark the celebration of Diwali 2021, Merton Heritage Services have compiled a new webpage featuring the story and traditions of Diwali, recipes, music, dance, puzzles and craft activities.

Diwali is often referred to as the festival of lights – it is also known as a festival of new beginnings, celebrating the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness – in these difficult times the Diwali message of peace, prosperity and good will to all is something we can all share.

Merton Heritage Service  is currently designing a range of resources for reminiscence work to support people living with dementia. They are also devising special displays to form a sensory exhibition, open to all, but of particular benefit for people with visual and hearing impairments, adults with autism and learning difficulties.

Heritage Discovery Day – 2019

Merton Heritage Discovery  Day takes place on Saturday 11th May from 12:30 – 4:30pm. This year, Merton Heritage Centre is celebrating its 25th anniversary and have lots of events happening across the borough.
