Merton Heritage Combat Stress Event

Celebrating the centenary of Britain’s oldest military mental health charity.

This unique event will feature:

  • Heritage displays, historic objects and an introduction to the Combat Stress 100 project.
  • Archive film highlighting the true impact of combat on First World War troops and the foundation of support charities.
  • The UK premiere of a film, capturing the compelling and heartrending stories of
    current military veterans – the camaraderie of basic training, front line fighting, developing post-traumatic stress disorder and their enduring strength in rebuilding their lives.
  • Understand the sacrifices made by veterans and their families and to signpost the work of military mental health charities, in the run up to Remembrance Week.

Merton Heritage Centre on Saturday 2 November ( 12.30 – 4.30 )

Please note: the film  content includes upsetting descriptions of combat and trauma-related events, in addition to detailing the realities of life with a serious mental health condition. For this reason the screening is only suitable for over 16s.
