Japanese Knotweed

In 2016 a small area of Japanese Knotweed was discovered in the ward.  (We are aware of other instances elsewhere in Merton in the past.)  Merton Council responded to our request to take action.  In 2017 Merton Council attacked the weed growth again at our request and you can be sure we shall be watching the area this year as well.  It is quite usual for Japanese Knotweed to take more than one season to be eradicated.

We thought residents would value this short newspaper comment on just how serious it is to have the plant on your property.
